PURPOSE:To eliminate a shadow with one light source equally to the use of two light sources by nearly equalizing the illuminance by direct light to the illuminance by reflected light from a reflecting means at a lighted position within the luminous flux range of direct light and outside the range of luminous flux other than the direct light. CONSTITUTION:The direct light from a light source 1 is set on the surface 3a of contact glass 3 and its reflected light is projected on a plane mirror 6 at a lower position while forming an image formation luminous flux plane 5 coincident with a (y) axis. The reflecting plate 10 is arranged on the opposite side from the light source 1 and luminous flux other than the direct light from the light source 1 to the lighted position O is reflected to the lighted position O to obtain the effect where a virtual light source 1' is placed at P'o, thereby lighting an original with luminous flux in the opposite direction from the direct light. A shield plate 12 is arranged within the luminous flux range OFD of the direct light from the light source 1 to the lighted position O and within a range ABCD outside the range of luminous flux other than the direct light and part OED of it is cut to reduce the illuminance Eo by the direct light to the illuminance E'o by the reflected light. Consequently, the shadow of a stuck original is reduced as well as the use of two light sources.
