The rolled stock is turned continually at angles of at least 45 degrees and at most 90 degrees through the first region of a water bath and then at angles of at most 45 degrees pref. about 22 degrees 30 mins., through a second region of the bath. Apparatus is also described. The process particularly relates to slab ingot cooling from temps. of about 1000 degrees C to 150 degrees C. |
