PURPOSE:To obtain a thermal transfer sheet by which recording having good uniformity and good color density can be carried out, by providing a color material layer containing a specific pyrazolone azo pigment on a base film. CONSTITUTION:A thermal transfer sheet has a color material layer containing a pyrazolone azo pigment represents by a general formula (I). In the formuls, R represented alkoxyalkyl group which may be substituted, aralkyloxyalkyl group which may be substituted, tetrahydrofulfuryl group, furfuryl group, allyloxyalkyl group which may be substituted, or aryloxyalkyl group which may be substituted. Ink is prepared by dissolving or dispersing, in a particulate state, this pigment together with binding agent in solvent. The ink is applied to be dried on the base film and the color material layer is formed. The thermal transfer sheet coated uniformly with a pigment which is suitable for obtaining full color recording of good color reproducibility and easily sublimated and by which recording of high color density can be obtained at a high speed, is obtained. |
