PURPOSE:To obtain a thermal recording label which is good in coloring property green preservative property, and the stability fo a coloring image and wherein a recording material is excellent in chemical resistance, by a method wherein the solubility in ethanol of an electron acceptive compound is not more than a specific value. CONSTITUTION:In a thermal recording label in which a thermal coloring layer containing an electron donative colorless dye and an electron acceptive compound is provided on the surface of a base material, a protective layer is provided on the coloring layer, and an adhesive layer is provided on the rear surface of the base material, a solubility in ethanol at 25 deg.C is not more than 10. The electron acceptive compound is a compound having an acid group, for instance, a compound containing phenolic hydroxide group, mercapto group and its metal salt. A thermal recording material of which the coloring density is enough and of which the colored coloring matter is remarkablly stable, hardly causing any change in color still by optical irradiation, heating, and humidification for a long time, is obtained by using the electron acceptive compound. The electron acceptive compound is preferably used by 50-8000 wt.% of an electron donative dye precursor. A triarylmethane compound, a disphenylmethane compound, etc., are exemplified as the electron donative colorless dye. |
