PURPOSE:To prevent paper jamming, by making a roller barrelshaped, and rotatably supporting the roller on a pressing shaft. CONSTITUTION:A pressing shaft 6 is disposed in parallel to a platen 1. A barrel- shaped pressure roller 7 is rotatably supported on the shaft 6, which is constantly pressed against the platen 1 by the tension of springs. A printing paper 8 is passed between a paper guide 3 on a carrier frame 4 and the platen 1, is guided to the roller 7 by the guide 3, and is passed between the platen 1 and the roller 7. Even when an edge of the printing paper is curled to the side opposite to a printing surface, the paper passed through the gap between the platen and the paper guide has a part near the center thereof clamped by the roller under the function of the paper guide, an outer part of the paper is sequentially drawn in by the roller, and is wrapped around the platen irrespective of the edge curl, so that the possibility of paper jamming can be minimized.
