<p>A D.C. cell with porous diaphragm contains fused hydroxide at 400-600 degrees C. Steam is passed continuously into cathode chamber, and the resultant H2 and O2 are removed from cathode and anode chambers respectively. Pref. electrolyte consists of 10% NaOH and 90% KOH at 450-550 degrees C., and the potential 1.5 V.</p> |
