PURPOSE:To prevent the deterioration of catalytic activity due to a volatile catalytic poisonous substance such as arsenic, selenium or thallium, by supporting copper and aluminum sulfate by hydrogen substitution type zeolite having a silica/alumina ratio of 10 or more. CONSTITUTION:0.1-5wt.% of copper (Cu) and 0.5-15wt.% of aluminum sulfate [Al2(SO4)] are supported by a hydrogen substitution type zeolite having a silica (SiO2)/alumina (Al2O3) ratio of 10 or more. The copper ion supported by hydrogen substitution type zeolite forms an active spot in the pore in zeolite through the ion exchange with a hydrogen ion. Since a catalytic poison substance such as arsenic or selenium has a size almost equal to the active spot, the active spot is difficult to be poisoned. Further, when the zeolite supporting copper through ion exchange is impregnated with aluminum sulfate, a pore size is made small and poisoning preventing effect is enhanced. |
