PURPOSE:To make analysis with high accuracy by subjecting a steroid-contg. sample to gas chromatography, bringing the separated gaseous sample into contact with a heated solid consisting of platinum, iridium, etc., to crack the sample and further ionizing the same. CONSTITUTION:A surface ionization detecting part is constituted of a coiled heating electrode 10 consisting of a fine platinum wire and a cylindrical inside collector electrode 12 disposed oppositely to a nozzle electrode 7 at the end of a quartz nozzle 5 in an ionization chamber 6. The surface ionization detector constituted in such a manner is so set that -200V voltage is impressed by a DC power supply 8 to the nozzle electrode 7 and 200V voltage relatively to the inside collector electrode 11, respectively. The steroid-contg. sample is measured according to the specific analysis conditions (GC) and the results thereof are chromatographically rearranged. The steroid in the sample, i.e., dehydroepiandrosterone, pregnanediol and cholesterol are respectively distinctly separated. Namely, the selective analysis of the steroid with high accuracy is permitted according to this analysis method. |
