Webs (13-15) project from the underside of the cover plate (10) of the block cover (18), the webs being arranged essentially at right angles with respect to one another and, together with the upper side (20) of the block cover (18), forming labyrinth-type channels (33). A degassing opening (21) associated with the respective cell of the block (32) opens into each channel (33) and the channels open via a filter (30) into a gas outlet opening (29) (Figure 2). The degassing labyrinth results in good splash resistance and resistance to tipping without fluid (acid) running out of the cells. In this arrangement, the filter (30) is used as protection against sparks, for example, igniting the explosive gases contained in the lead-acid accumulator. <IMAGE> |
