PURPOSE:To mount a dynamic vibration absorbing device without increasing the entire height of a rotary magnetic head mechanism by providing a vibration absorbing mass (moment of inertia) made of a viscoelastic substance to a window provided to part of a rotor of a rotary magnetic head drive motor. CONSTITUTION:A window is provided to a bottom face of a motor rotor 12, the vibration absorbing mass 13a is mounted to the window by the viscoelastic substance 14 and the entire motor rotor is fitted to a metallic fixture 5 fitted to a rotary shaft 3 by a mount screw 11. In selecting the vibration absorbing mass 13a and the spring constant of the viscoelastic substance 14 so as to be nearly coincident with the natural frequency of the rotary magnetic head mechanism, the resonance of the major device is prevented. Since the vibrator absorbing device is added into the motor rotor, the entire height of the major device is not increased.
