PURPOSE:To permit simultaneous satisfaction of thickness reduction and flexibility by consisting a medium of a light translucent film-like material having flexibility and forming a light exit part of a rough surface part provided to the medium. CONSTITUTION:Incident light from an end edge part 1B propagates in the medium when this light guid body is used a kind of a surface light source. Part of said light emerges from the rough surface part 1A directly or after the light reflects on the boundary face (or reflection layer) on the opposite side. The illumination face corresponding to the area of the part 1 is consequently obtd. Incidence of the light may be executed by using a light source at the diametrically opposed end edge part and a tape-shaped light scattering body may be used by arranging the same in the form of a plane, in the case of using this light guid body as the surface light source. The light diffusive body of a thin type having flexibility is thereby easily and efficiently obtd.
