PURPOSE:To reduce the reaction between a cover glass and a film and sharply improve the brightness of a display tube by specifying the content of an alkaline metal oxide contained in the film stuck to the inner surface of the cover glass. CONSTITUTION:The content of an alkaline metal oxide constituting the graphite film 2 stuck to the inner surface of a cover glass 1 is set to 0.1-3.0 wt.%. Thereby, the reaction between the cover glass 1 and the film 2 when the film 2 is formed is reduced while the sticking strength between the cover glass 1 and the film 2 is secured. Therefore, the electron emission from the arranged filament 3 is facilitated, and the brightness of a display tube can be sharply improved. One or more components among Na2O, Li2O, K2O are contained in the alkaline metal oxide.
