PURPOSE:To improve the responding speed and the heat dissipation of a torque motor by providing magnetic fluid on the pole faces of a stator and a rotor. CONSTITUTION:A torque motor is composed of a stator 1, exciting coils 2 attached to the stator, a rotor 3, and rotor bars 4 secured in the slots of the rotor. Currents of different phases flow to the coils 2 to rotate the rotor 3. In this case, magnetic fluid 5 is filled between the pole faces 1a of the stator 1 and the pole faces 3a of the rotor 3. As a result, a magnetic flux density is increased between both the pole faces to reduce an overdamping and to accelerate its responding speed. The heat generated at the rotor 3 is transferred through the fluid 5 to the stator 1 to be dissipated.
