PURPOSE:To reproduce the contents of a picture memory from a recording medium itself and to recognize again without A/D converting its own contents of the picture memory by storing the position of the recording medium in which picture data is temporarily stored in the picture memory in a position storing means. CONSTITUTION:In a video floppy disk 32, the picture data is recorded on tracks different for every frame, and when it is desired to see the picture data of the different frame, a head 36 is moved to a corresponding track and the recording signal of the track may be reproduced. A track feeding switch 60 for instructing the change of a track position instructs a CPU 30 to feed or return a reproducing track or the absolute value of a reproducing track number. A switch 62 for instructing the picture memory 54 to freeze the output of a reproducing signal processing circuit 42 is closed, thereby, the CPU 30 stored the track number of the position of a picture frozen in the picture memory 54 in a freeze track memory 63.
