PURPOSE:To safely control a numerical controller, by displaying the operating state of a machine, etc., on a display device at a host computer side. CONSTITUTION:When an operation command or a process program is sent from a host computer 4 to the numerical controller 1 side, a command is issued from each command part 18 by referring to the display of each state display part 19 on the display device 20 similarly as an operation panel 2. At this time, an ID code is sent first, and it is possible to respond by the numerical controller only when coincidence is obtained. Therefore, it is possible to connect and control plural numerical controllers 1 to the computer 4. Also, it is possible to apply control on all of the machines simultaneously in a group by inputting information with a group level in the ID code. In such a way, an inputted signal is sent to the numerical controller 1 via a transmission line 5, and the numerical controller 1 processes the signal as if it is inputted from the operation panel 2.
