PURPOSE:To suppress the cell voltage and obtain a long life by automatically controlling the feed air flow and circulating air flow. CONSTITUTION:A fuel cell main body 1 is roughly divided into a fuel electrode 2 and an air electrode 3. The mixed air of the fresh feed air (a) and the circulating air (b) circulated from the outlet of the air electrode 3 to an inlet by a fan 4 and having the lowered oxygen concn. is fed to this air electrode 3. The output of a current detector 5 detecting the output current of the main body 1 is fed to an arithmetic unit 6 to control the flow and oxygen concn. of this circulating air, and command values for the feed air flow and circulating air flow are calculated respectively. These two flow command values and outputs of flow detectors 7, 8 detecting the actual flows of the feed air (a) and circulating air (b), a voltage detector 9 detecting the output voltage of the main body 1, and a pressure difference detector 10 detecting the pressure difference applied to the fan 4 are fed to a control unit 11. Then, the feed air flow (a) and the circulating air flow (b) are automatically controlled. |
