PURPOSE:To make the operation of a garbage treater easy by a method that in the garbage disposer using microwaves, when the humidity is equal to or lower than a fixed value, the oxygen concentration is equal to or higher than a fixed value, and the carbon dioxide concentration is equal to or lower than a fixed value during the time of treating operation, combustion is judged to be finished. CONSTITUTION:When a disposer is operated and garbage is disposed of, the humidity value of the inside of a mainbody 1 detected by a humidity detector 20, the oxygen concentration value in an exhaust gas detected by an oxygen concentration detector 19a, and the carbon dioxide concentration value in the exhaust gas detected by a carbon dioxide concentration detector 19b are fed to a controller 18. When an input humidity is equal to or lower than a fixed one, the oxygen concentration is equal or over a fixed one, and the carbon dioxide concentration is equal to a lower than a fixed one, the controller 18 judges that combustion is finished and stops the operation of the whole disposer. By this constitution, the disposer is operated in accordance with the quantity and quality of the garbage and the use of the disposer can be made easy.
