PURPOSE:To make changes in the amounts of an burnt part in ash and NOx smaller by a method that in the fuel supply for a pulverized fuel-fired boiler the amount of carrying air to the supply amount of pulverized coal is controlled to the most suitable and previously set amount by a control valve. CONSTITUTION:A change in the supply amount of coal present in a pulverized coal pipe 7 and supplied from a roller mill to a boiler 8 is discovered by a detector 14 and the detected value is transmitted to a control valve 5 through a line 15. The valve 5 is so controlled as to start its operation when the change in the air amount supplied to the roller mill 4 is delayed. The change rate of this air amount and the final set value are controlled by signals transmitted by a line 13 through a computing element 11 just in the same way as for the supply amount to a feeder 2. By this constitution, changes in the amount of an unburnt part in ash and NOx can be made small.
