PURPOSE:To accurately and efficiently grinding rolls without use of a special grinding device by rotating rolls by giving a speed difference between rolls being in a contact condition without removing the rolls. CONSTITUTION:Rolls 2 are brought into contact with each other to have a cross angle of theta between their axial lines. In that situation, both the rolls 2 are pressed by a prescribed load and rotated. A slip movement in the axial direction between the rolls 2 by a difference between respective peripheral speeds of the rolls 2, so that the entire surface of the rolls 2 is grinded. The rolls 2 are efficiently ground by that method.
