PURPOSE:To improve the life of a double mold stool for bottom pouring ingot making by using refractories to constitute the front surface of the double mold stool. CONSTITUTION:The upper part of the double mold stool 4 of equipment for bottom pouring ingot making disposed with the mold stool 4 and a casting mold 6 on a mold stool 1 is constituted of the refractories 5. A molten steel 7 passes the inside of a runner brick 2 then a flow off port brick 3 and is poured into the casting mold 6. The part of the refractories 5 is damaged by direct contact with the molten steel after a number of times of use but this damage is not propagated to the cast iron part. The semi-permanent use of the cast iron part is permitted if the molding board is used by exchanging the refractories 5. This double mold stool is adequately usable for forming a steel ingot for forging by bottom pouring.
