PURPOSE:To improve comfortableness for living by providing an indoor heat exchanger and a heat storage unit in the air passage of an indoor fan, fitting temperature sensors thereto, respectively, and conducting the control of the indoor fan based on the detection result. CONSTITUTION:An indoor heat exchanger 3 and a heat storage unit 4 are provided in the vent passage of an indoor fan 5 disposed within an indoor unit main body An indoor heat exchanger temperature sensor 7 for detecting the temperature and a heat storage temperature sensor 8 are provided in the heat exchanger 3 and the unit 4, respectively. A controller for conducting the control of the indoor fan 5 based on the detection results of these sensors is also provided. When the heat storage is sufficient at the time of a defrosting operation, the stored heat is utilized. When the stored heat is insufficient, heat of the indoor heat exchanger 3 is utilized to make it possible to discharge hot air during the defrosting operation and thus to a carry out a continuous space heating operation. Further, when the temperatures of both heat storage and indoor heat exchangers 4 and 3 are insufficient, the discharge of the cold air flow is prevented as heretofore and the comfortableness can be improved without lowering the room temperature.
