When a thread laying trouble is generated, and ear taking-up 35 and real taking-np 36 are not executed, or ear taking up is not executed and only real taking-up is executed, the detection value of the optical fiber 38 does not vary, and it is judged that ear taking-up 35 is not executed, and since the trouble of winding of a thread Y onto other places such as bobbin holder 33 is generated, and a defect package is formed, the thread Y is cut by the cutter of a thread laying arm 32. Thus, the loss of thread can be reduced.
