PURPOSE:To improve the accommodating ability without lowering the soot collecting effect of the range by forming the main body of the range hood having a hollow inverted L-shape by a horizontal side frame member and a vertical side frame member and providing a blower and an accommodating part within the vertical side frame member. CONSTITUTION:A main body 1 having a hollow inner part and a substantially inverted L-shape is formed by a horizontal side frame member 2 and a vertical side frame member 3. In the inner part of the main body 1, a blower 4 is provided so that its suction port 5 is directed toward the inner part of the vertical frame member 3, and on the lower surface of the horizontal side frame member 2, a main body suction port 8 disposed with a filter 7 is provided. Uprising soots are sucked up straight to the suction port 5 of the blower 4 and hence they do not flow into the inner part of the vertical side frame member 3. Accordingly, an accommodating shelf 6 can be provided on both sides of the blower 4. Consequently, the accommodating ability can be improved without disturbing the soot collecting effect of the range hood 1.
