PURPOSE:To shorten the document replacing time and handle a variety of sheet document sizes by changing and controlling the operation position of a discharge port according to the detected sheet document size, thus obtaining the compact device. CONSTITUTION:Sheet documents are separated one by one and transported in a sheet document transport passage 21 and stopped at a prescribed position. The processed document is returned to an original position through a member C having a discharge port 29. In this case, the size of the sheet document is detected by a sheet document size detecting means 23, and the position of the discharge port 29 is changed and controlled by a means 31 for changing and controlling the operation position. Therefore, the processed sheet document is discharged from a discharge port 29 corresponding to the size and returned to the original position. Since the operation position of the discharge port 29 is changed and controlled according to the size of the sheet document, the device is made compact, and the document replacing time can be shortened, and the sheets having a variety of size can be handled.
