PURPOSE:To realize automatic editing processing that gives no load to a system engineer by holding device information via each device connected to a system bus and registering these information in a common memory when a resetting action is started. CONSTITUTION:The device information on the number of own editions, the number of hard editions, the kind of devices, the class codes of external connection equipments, etc., are held by a hard disk controller 5, a floppy disk controller 7 and a serial interface controller 8 of a basic system 11 as well as communication controllers 12 and 13, a GPIB controller 14, a parallel interface controller 15, a serial interface controller 16 and a SCSI controller 17 connected to the outside. A microprocessor 22 of each of those devices registers those device information in the memory areas allocated to each device of a common memory 9 via a system bus 1 when a resetting action is started. Thus it is possible to produce an input/output-communication control table with reference to the device information stored in the memory 9 when a system is edited. Then a system editing job can be automated for hardware.
