PURPOSE:To sharply improve the loadability of a sheet onto a sheet handler and a tray and the consistency, by installing a butting member, capable of reversible motion, in a sheet matching device to be connected to a copying machine or the like. CONSTITUTION:A sheet tip butting member 13 is held by a holding member 14, and hung down by gravity. At a lower part of the holding member 14, a rack plate 15a is held shiftably in the thrust direction by rack rollers 16a and 16b, and it is made shiftable in a Y direction by the pinion gear 18 connected to a motor 17. For a distance l between this butting member 13 and a sheet tip and a projecting quantity delta of the sheet, a shade plate 19 is connected to a rear end of the rack plate 15a so as to cause them to become the relation of delta>=l, and a sensor 20 is intercepted by the shade plate 19, stopping the holding member 14. And, utilizing reversible motion of the butting member 13 to be produced by a collision reacting action of the sheet, sheets on a stacker tray 11 are matchedwith one another.
