PURPOSE:To shorten the time in charging and rewinding work of a coil by installing a main/sub uncoiler at both sides of a line center and arranging the sledging device capable of a reciprocating movement in parallel to a mandrel axial line by adding an auxiliary pinch roll. CONSTITUTION:On completion of the rewinding of a preceding coil 1 a main uncoiler 2 is moved to an auxiliary uncoiler 2a side by actuating a cylinder 18 as well as contracting the drum 15 of the main uncoiler 2 and engaged so as to conform the center of both drums 15, 15a onto the same line X'. The drum 15 of the main uncoiler is them spreaded to contract the auxiliary uncoiler 15a and after holding a coil 1' by the main drum 15 both cylinders 18, 32 are driven at synchronous sped to move the main uncoiler 2 and sledging device 26 onto a line center X. The coiler tip is passed then through a pinch roll 3 by starting the main uncoiler 2 and auxiliary pinch roller 25. A coil opener 4 and a lower part sledging guide 6 are tilted and a sledging device 26 is moved to come in a rewinding preparation work.
