<p>PURPOSE:To automatically confirm the inventory of articles by providing a computing device for computing the number of articles stored in a storage rack in accordance with an output signal from a distance measuring device. CONSTITUTION:When a desired inventory confirmation address is inputted, an inventory managing machine 72 delivers an instruction for moving a stacker crane D on the introduction side to a ground control panel 71, and an introduction device 32 on the stacker crane D on the introduction side comes to and stops at a predetermined frontage of a storage rack A in accordance with the instruction. A distance measuring device 6 laid on the introduction device 32 delivers a voltage corresponding to the distance to an article, to the inventory managing device 72 which therefore verifies the actual inventory calculated in accordance with voltages delivered from the distance measuring device 6 and inventory data stored in the inventory managing device 72. Thereby it is possible to automatically confirm the inventory.</p> |
