PURPOSE:To efficiently remove the welding burrs formed at a seam part in a short time and eliminate the quality disorder and improve yield by arranging polishing machines above and below a strip and moving said machines in reciprocation along the welding seam of a strip coil. CONSTITUTION:Columns 3 and 4 are erected at the both edges of a base 2, and the upper edge parts are connected by a transverse member 5. Screw shafts 6 and 7 are laid between the columns 3 and 4, and the screw shaft 6 is turning- driven by a reversible revolution motor 9, and at the same time, also the screw shaft 7 is turned together with a shaft 8 by the upper and lower bevel gears. Female screw sliders 11 and 12 are engaged with the screw shafts 6 and 7, and polishing members 13 and 14 are installed onto the sliders. Grinding wheels 15 and 16 are revolved through a belt, and attached onto the welding part of a strip S by a proper pressing force by balance weights 17 and 18. Therefore, the welding burrs on the upper and lower surfaces of the strip S can be removed efficiently.
