PURPOSE:To wind a coil with the bearing force averaged in the width direction by covering a sleeve on a tension reel and forming a crown recessing in a parabolic shape on the sleeve. CONSTITUTION:A cold rolled steel plate coil 11 is wound on the tension reel to which a sleeve 14 is fitted via a bridle roll 12. On this sleeve 14, the crown recessed in a parabolic shape is formed along the direction intersecting at right angles with the coil progressing direction. As a result, a small tension is applied at the center part and a large tension at the right and left ends on the coil 11 wound on the reel 13 to obtain the tension reverse to the tension part at the time of its being wound on the reel. The tension is therefore offset and it is wound with the averaged bearing force in the whole coil width almost and in case of rewinding the generation of the defect of a scratch, etc. can be prevented.
