摘要

PURPOSE:To avoid the adverse effect onto a video screen due to strobo flash by using a still camera and a video camera simultaneously so as not to output an electric charge during a prescribed period relating to the strobo flash in solid-state image pickup element of the latter camera. CONSTITUTION:With a strobo flash section 56 activated, when the flash section 56 is turned on during the next vertical blanking period with a delay from the depression of a shutter button 14 of a still camera section 31, a video camera section 32 throws away an electric charge by the strobo flash in the photodetector section of a solid-state image pickup element 45 during the vertical blanking period. When the flash section 56 is turned on as soon as the shutter button 14 is depressed on the other hand, the electric charge stored in the photodetector section of the image pickup element 45 is thrown away before the strobo flash. As the means throwing away the electric charge as above, an overflow drain section of the image pickup element 45 is utilized.
