PURPOSE:To obtain the title rubber sufficient in elastic property and sufficiently high in the strength of both a copolymer and a vulcanized rubber, comprising ethylene, propylene and a nonconjugated polyene and having a high ethylene content. CONSTITUTION:An ethylene/propylene/nonconjugated polyene copolymer rubber which is a copolymer rubber comprising ethylene, propylene and a nonconjugated polyene and having an ethylene to propylene molar ratio of 86/14-97/3, a total amount of the propylene and the nonconjugated polyene of 6-17mol.% and A>=0.1 [wherein A is defined by the equation 9wherein P is the propylene content of the copolymer rubber, D is the nonconjugated polyene content and E is the ethylene content (all represented by mol.%)] and has an intrinsic viscosity (as measured in xylene at 70 deg.C) of 0.8-4.0dl/g, a melting peak temperature <=70 deg.C as determined by DSC and a heat of fusion <=10cal/g. |
