PURPOSE:To efficiently and accurately execute the diagnosis of an address signal line in a main storage device by defining a memory area corresponding to an address signal in the main storage device as an object to be tested and executing the writing/reading/comparing of data only in the memory area. CONSTITUTION:The memory area 9 corresponding to the address signal in the main storage device 3 is defined as an object to be tested, the writing/ reading/comparing of data for checking the overlap of addresses in the memory area 9 is executed and the validity of the address signal line in the main storage device 3 is checked. Since only the memory area 9 corresponding to the address signal in the main storage device 3 is defined as the object to be tested, the testing time can be efficiently shortened and the overlap of addresses in each bit RAM can be surely detected. |
