PURPOSE:To reduce the variance of CCD output potential and to quicken the response characteristic of a clamping circuit by applying horizontal transfer pulse to CCDs at the time of starting read-out to eliminate the dark current. CONSTITUTION:A timing generating circuit controls a driver so that horizontal transfer pulse phis is applied even in the period from clear to read-out start. Therefore, the dark current of CCD is discharged to drains. Further, drop of the output voltage is suppressed because floating diffusion is reset to the drain voltage.
