PURPOSE:To eliminate the need for performing a quenching process and contrive an extreme accuracy of the magnetic field distribution by improving the accuracy of coil dimensions, by inserting a glass tape impregnated with resin between the layers of a coil and by fixing spaces between superconducting wires with inevitably minimum resin after they are wound and then dried. CONSTITUTION:In the case of insulating sheets such as glass-base materials impregnated with epoxy, a sheet or a plurality of sheets of them are inserted between respective layers so that outside diameter dimensions of a coil may agree with values required by a design. When its winding is complete, the insulating sheets are wound at peripheral winding part 3 and its outside is bound by square or round wires 5. After that, the whole unit is treated by heat. Fluidity given to epoxy resin in the insulating sheets allows epoxy resin to soak into spaces between the superconducting wires and then epoxy resin becomes stiff. In such a winding, the accuracy of dimensions results within acceptable limit for design values; besides, its winding is free from even a fine movement and makes it possible to obtain the coil that is hard to be quenched because the spaces between superconducting wires are fixed by epoxy resin. |
