PURPOSE:To detect the defects of picture data caused by transmission noise in a short time and with high accuracy, by checking the fluctuation of data on the time base in a transmission mode and comparing the check results of each component element with each other to detect the transmission noise. CONSTITUTION:Picture data is transmitted to a receiver 14 from a transmitter 10 via a transmission line 12 like a public telephone circuit, etc., and a computer 16 detects the transmission noise. The picture data is stored in a memory of the transmitter 10 via one or plural planes. The transmitter 10 decomposes the picture data for each scan line and transmits them successively to the line 12 as the time series data. In the case of a color picture, the picture data is transmitted for each of three primary colors. If noise occurs on the line 12, lateral line type defects are produced for the picture data that is received by the receiver 14. When the picture is divided vertically at a defective part, the picture data changes suddenly at the defective part. Then a color picture has low probability where the transmission noise is applied to the same positions of three plane pictures. Thus the noise can be detected by means of said characteristics. |
