PURPOSE:To quickly display a text by preserving the text into a working file and displaying the text on a text display editing device in parallel with each other when the text is displayed on the text display editing device of an editor. CONSTITUTION:When a start instruction is given to an editor control means 2, the output of the means 2 starts a text input means 4 via an initial control means 3. Thus a text is stored in a text buffer 10 from a user text file 1 via the means 4 and then in a work file 8 via a text preserving means 5. At the same time, the text is displayed on a text display editing device 9 via a test display means 6. A text editing means 7 performs the editing jobs like deletion, replacement, etc., to the text stored in the file 8 in response to the instruction of the device 9. Thus the processing performance of an editor is improved.
