A process for producing laminate boards or sheets provided with a metal foil on the surface, based on phenolic resin or phenolic resin/melamine resin, by pressing and adhesive bonding is described. A metal foil provided on one side with a dried adhesion-promoter layer is pressed simultaneously together with at least one phenolic resin-impregnated or phenolic resin/melamine resin-impregnated leaf of the laminate board or laminate sheet in such a manner that the adhesion-promoter layer of the metal foil reacts while adhering to the curing phenolic resin or melamine resin.
