Monitoring device for a running card sliver (2a, 2b) in drawing frames for textile machinery, which monitoring device uses a monitoring roller (5a, 5b) which is set in rotary motion by the running card sliver (2a, 2b), around which the card sliver is at least partly wound, driving the said monitoring roller (5a, 5b) to reflect the German more closely by frictional engagement.
