PURPOSE:To always secure a dye in a liquid tank at constant concn. by accurately measuring concn., by a method wherein the light from a light emitting element is allowed to transmit through a dye solution and light transmissivity is detected by a light receiving element. CONSTITUTION:A solution concn. sensor 3 having a light emitting element 4 and a light receiving element 5 is immersed in the dye solution allowed to fill a liquid tank through which cloth to be dyed is continuously passed and the quantity of the light inputted to the light receiving element 5 from the light emitting element 4 varies according to the concn. of the dye solution and the index corresponding to the concn. of a dye is displayed on a light transmissivity index meter 8 on the basis of the signal from the light receiving element 5. When the concn. of the dye is higher than desired concn., a solenoid valve SV2 is opened through a relay RH to add water so as to obtain the desired concn. When the concn. is lower than the desired concn., a solenoid valve SV1 is opened through a relay RL. As mentioned above, when the addition of the dye solution is performed manually or automatically, the dye solution having constant concn. is always obtained.
