The invention relates to a positive coupling which disengages by purely mechanical means in the event of an overload, the said coupling having driver elements (6), accommodated in axial openings in coupling half (2), which are disengaged from the recesses in coupling half (1) counter to the axial force of a spring (7) as soon as the torque set between the two coupling halves is exceeded. A control ring (3) ensures that, in the disengaged condition, the driver elements (6) are relieved of load by the shaped pieces (5) and the residual torque of the coupling is thus low. The control ring furthermore ensures that the locking mechanism (4) allows the connection to be re-engaged only in certain angular positions. <IMAGE>
