PURPOSE:To automatically set a cross piece under a broach by providing a guide claw for guiding the cross piece descending on a main track to a bypass track on the upper end of bypass track. CONSTITUTION:When remaining blanks 1 stacked on a pallet 10 on a main pile 2 become few and the main pile 2 reaches a certain height, a cross piece 5 standing by above begins automatically to desend by the operation of an auxiliary pile driving motor. This cross piece 5 is guided by a main rail 8 to descend, guided into a bypass rail 9 by a guide claw 11, lowered through said rail 9 and avoids the collision with the broach 4. Then, the cross piece 5, after turning around below the broach 4 and entering the main rail 8, is lifted in the main rail 8 by the reversal of said motor to hold the broach 4 and stopped when it contacts the broach 4.
