<p>The equipment, used in gas chromatography, has a housing containing a burner with feeds for carrier and combustion gases and having a compressed air inlet port. A bouette burner is an absorbent salt tube with a collector ring in which it is a friction fit, to which one lead is taken for measurement of flame potential and there is a second connection for this measurement. A direct reading measuring instrument is connected across the two lead outs. The collector ring with the salt tube, can be adjusted axially in a guide. The collector ring can be rorated by at least 180 degrees about an axis perpendicular to the burner axis. Calibration adjustments are provided in the electrical measurement circuit as well as in the mechanical alignment. The absorber may be a nitrogenous compound of Rb2SO4 or halogenided Cs2SO4 or CsI.</p> |
