PURPOSE:To make it possible to apply a prepared composition to the surface of an inorganic material and to firmly form a paint-like color tone on the surface, by blending glass powder having a given coefficient of thermal expansion with low-melting glass powder and a medium solution in a given ratio. CONSTITUTION:A composition for forming a liquid-permeable inorganic film of coating obtained by blending a mixture of 30-70wt.% glass bead or glass powder and 20-50wt.% low-melting glass powder with a medium solution. The glass bead has + or -15X10<-7>cm/cm deg.C coefficient of thermal expansion based on the film-forming material. The low-melting glass powder has a softening point >=130 deg.C lower than that of the glass bead.
