PURPOSE:To improve performance of a rotary disk by providing a thin type metallic disk reflection part which has a rotary shaft fitting hole in its center part and is high in reflecting factor and a radial transmission slit group in the metallic disk reflection part around said fitting hole. CONSTITUTION:The hole part 1a where a rotary shaft 3 is fitted and fixed is formed in the center part of a thin type metallic disk 1, and the transmission slit group 1a is bored radially having the center at the hole part 1a. Then a material having a high reflection factor is stuck on the top surface of the disk by plating or vapor deposition and this surface is constituted into the reflection part 1c. The rotary disk of a reflection rotary encoder is composed of a thin type metallic disk 1 manufactured by photoelectroforming, etc., so a collar type support part 2 is used for fixation on the rotary shaft 3 without movement. Therefore, when the disk rotates according to the rotation of the rotary shaft 3, the metallic disk 1 is prevented from being displaced radially to improve the rotational accuracy and also improve accuracy of the rotary disk.
