1314614 Apparatus for dispensing thermoplastic material INDUSTRIAL SHOE MACHINERY CORP 20 July 1970 [29 July 1969] 35021/70 Addition to 1254805 Heading F1R Apparatus for dispensing thermoplastic material and adapted to be held in the hand comprises a well for receiving a block 200 of normally solid thermoplastic material and an air-pressure actuated ram 52, within a cylinder 51 able to be registered with the well, for continuously applying pressure to the block 200, and heating means adjacent a discharge orifice of the well leading to an outlet conduit 56a having a valve 6 actuable by a trigger 43. The well comprises thermally conducting portion 39 and insulating portion 100, and the heating means (not shown) is an electric element in the portion 39, so that a reservoir of molten material is formed therein, while the material in the portion 100 remains solid. The continuous air-pressure may be regulated by a valve 54, and the trigger 43 controls a further air valve 55, so that the air-pressure is increased as the discharge valve 6 is opened. The cylinder 51 is pivotally mounted to the well, Fig. 3 (not shown) to allow insertion of the block 200 into the well, and it may itself receive a further block 201. The apparatus may have a thermometer 72 and thermostat 73, and an air bleed controlled by a screw 52b in the ram 52.
