PURPOSE:To efficiently transmit/receive a data signal and a voice signal by applying time division multiplex to the voice signal and the data signal in the unit of burst at the sender side and demultiplexing it at the receiver side. CONSTITUTION:Only a significant data is operated in the burst mode similarly as the voice data for the carrier ON/OFF control to a modulator with the carrier ON by monitoring a transmission data signal 12. Moreover, a selection signal 27 controlling a transmission voice/data switch 24 is applied by voice activation signal and the voice signal is sent with priority. The pattern of a unique word added by a voice coder and transmission synchronizing section 2 and the pattern of a unique word added by a data coder 30 are generated differently to identify the voice/data burst identification at the reception side. The identification between the voice signal and the data signal is applied by using the burst unique word at the reception side to automate the route selection of the signal.
