<p>A multi-purpose clip for clipping papers (4) and also useful in a fastener structure for a paper file (4), comprises an elongated member (6, 50, 72) formed with a pair of longitudinally-spaced holes (10, 52) adjacent to one edge to receive the fastening elements (2, 62) of the paper file (4). The elongated member (6, 50, 72) is further formed with a slot (12, 54) extending from each of the holes (10, 52) to the opposite edge of the elongated member such that the slots (12, 54) permit the elongated member (6, 50, 72) to be removed from the fastening elements (2, 62) by moving the elongated member (6, 50, 72) laterally in the direction of the opposite edge. The slots (12, 54) also define a center jaw (18a, 56a, 76a) and a pair of end jaws (18b, 18c; 56b, 56c; 76b, 76c) for clamping together the papers (4) overlying the place in the file where one or more papers (4) are to be added or removed.</p> |
