Front and back capping pieces, e.g. for shoes are manufactured by impregnating or coating textile material, fleece or felt with a dispersion containing a copolymer of 60-80% (preferably 65%) by weight of styrene and 40-20% (preferably 35%) by weight of n-butyl acrylate together with an anionic and a nonionic emulsifier and a radical-forming catalyst and then drying and sintering at 90-140 degrees C. The capping piece may be finished in known way by an adhesive layer on one or both sides. |
