Improvements in methods and compositions for gas deodorisation.

There is described a process for deodorising foul air by contacting the air with an alkaline aqueous solution containing one or more halogens and one or more species of oxygen-containing free radical. Advantageously an aqueous alkaline solution of pH from 7 to 14 containing from 0.001% to 100% saturation of ozone, and from 0.001% to 17% available chlorine in solution is used. A liquid composition for use in the process of deodorising of foul air is also described.
